General Teaching Assistant - Year 1

Job Duties

1. Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons to Year 1 students

2. Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources

3. Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional help

4. Supervise students during class activities and outings

5. Help maintain a positive and safe learning environment

Required Qualifications

- Relevant experience working with children in an educational setting

- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

- A valid DBS check

Education

- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths

Experience

- Previous experience working as a teaching assistant is preferred

Knowledge and Skills

- Understanding of child development and learning processes

- Ability to adapt to the needs of individual students

- Basic knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Preferred Qualifications

- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

Working Conditions

- Potential for occasional overtime or weekend work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
