Job Title: General Teacher – Functional Skills (Maths & English)
Location: Greater Manchester
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role:
The PWR team at Teaching Personnel is working closely with a Greater Manchester-based alternative provision to find a dedicated General Teacher. This role involves delivering Functional Skills Maths and English to Level 2, engaging students in both group and 1-1 settings. The position is perfect for a teacher who can adapt their methods to support a range of unique needs, fostering a positive and meaningful learning experience.

School Profile:
This alternative provision serves students aged 9-18 (Year 5-13) who face challenges in mainstream education. Students join for various reasons, such as low attendance, social anxieties, or SEMH needs. The school emphasizes flexible, tailored programs to support both academic progress and essential social skills, providing a supportive environment for students requiring additional guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Functional Skills Maths and English (up to Level 2) in adaptable, engaging ways
  • Support students through both group and individualized instruction
  • Foster a supportive and motivating classroom environment
  • Collaborate with staff to continually improve flexible and impactful learning programs

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching experience
  • Strong background in delivering Functional Skills in Maths and English, ideally to Level 2
  • Experience supporting students with SEMH needs is advantageous
  • Commitment to creating positive educational experiences
