We are looking for a General Cover Teacher whose main responsibility will be supporting different departments. This position starts immediately and is flexible.
The role is in Lancaster at a school where they encourage pupils to work hard to achieve their full potential in their academic studies and extra-curricular activities. The school believe in the value of partnership of students, families, wider community, and their place within the UK and globally.
The suitable candidate will have:
- Previous experience working with children.
- A pro-active mindset with confidence in a school environment.
- Confident in managing different behaviours within a classroom setting.
- Able to adapt approach to cater to pupils’ individual needs.
Day-to-day duties for a General Cover Teacher include:
- Supervising students, ensuring they are engaged in the classwork.
- Collecting completed work and returning it to the teacher.
- Encouraging pupils to interact and participate.
- Helping pupils to become more independent in their learning.
- Establishing trust with pupils, interacting with them according to individual needs.
- Creating a safe, positive, supportive classroom environment.
Although you must be a qualified teacher for this position the school are open to see applications from Cover Supervisors.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
