Job Overview
We are looking for an adaptable and enthusiastic General Cover Teacher to join our pool of supply teachers across schools in Leyland and Chorley. This flexible role will see you covering a variety of subjects and classes, providing valuable support to schools in the area.
Educated to Qualified Teacher Status, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every pupil to reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide cover for absent teachers across a range of subjects and year groups
- Deliver pre-planned lessons and maintain a positive learning environment
- Manage classroom behaviour and ensure students remain engaged
- Support the teaching staff in maintaining high standards of education
- Ensure that all school policies and procedures are followed
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
- Experience teaching a variety of subjects across Key Stages 3 & 4
- Strong classroom management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible and adaptable to different teaching environments
- A passion for supporting students’ educational development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
