Overview

This programme is aimed at graduates who are considering a career in teaching. As a participant, you will gain hands-on experience in delivering subject-specific lessons while working closely with experienced educators in Stockport’s secondary schools. This is an immersive opportunity to develop classroom skills and prepare for a successful teaching career.

Key Responsibilities

• Classroom Support: Assist in delivering lessons in your chosen subject area (e.g., English, Maths, Science, or Humanities).

• Curriculum Engagement: Work with classroom teachers to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum.

• Student Interaction: Provide 1:1 and small group support to reinforce learning and address individual student needs.

• Feedback & Reflection: Regularly evaluate your teaching practice with guidance from mentors, and incorporate feedback to improve your delivery.

• Administrative Support: Assist with marking, lesson planning, and organising classroom resources.

Qualifications & Experience

• A recent graduate in a relevant subject area or education-related field.

• Passion for teaching and a clear commitment to pursuing a career in education.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to inspire and motivate young people.

• An eagerness to learn, develop new skills, and take on classroom responsibilities.
