Job description

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and experienced Functional Skills tutor to provide one-to-one and small-group tuition in English and Maths for students in Nottinghamshire. This role focuses on supporting learners who need extra help in developing essential skills for everyday life, education, and employment.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Functional Skills tutor, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and tailored sessions in English and/or Maths to help students build confidence and practical skills.
  • Plan and create lesson materials designed to meet the needs of individual learners.
  • Support students in developing key competencies, including communication, numeracy, and problem-solving.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment to help students achieve their goals.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experienced Educator: A strong track record of helping students progress in Functional Skills English and/or Maths.
  • Organised and Reliable: Excellent planning and time-management skills.
  • Student-Centred Approach: A commitment to safeguarding and supporting student development.
  • Motivational Communicator: The ability to engage, inspire, and build confidence in learners of all abilities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
