What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Engaging Lesson Planning: Create innovative and engaging lessons that make complex scientific concepts accessible and exciting for students aged 11-16.
  • Classroom Magic: Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where students feel encouraged to explore, ask questions, and develop a love for science.
  • Experimentation and Practical Learning: Organize and guide practical experiments, encouraging students to develop hands-on skills and scientific reasoning.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with a supportive team of science teachers and teaching assistants, contributing to the department’s shared resources and vision.
  • Continuous Improvement: Take part in professional development opportunities, sharing new ideas and best practices to help continually raise standards.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Science Teacher: A QTS certification (or equivalent) in secondary science teaching, with a specialization in any branch of science.
  • Passionate Communicator: Someone who can connect with students and communicate complex topics in a relatable way, fostering a love for learning and exploration.
  • Creative Thinker: You can devise imaginative ways to bring science to life, making it fun, memorable, and impactful.
  • Team Player: A positive, proactive, and collaborative individual, ready to make a valuable contribution to the school’s thriving science department.
  • Classroom Management Pro: You have a proven track record of managing a classroom effectively, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all learners.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate and on the update service \9or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel)
