Food Technician
Job description
A popular secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking a dedicated and skilled Food Technician to join their team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the teaching of food technology, ensuring that practical lessons run smoothly, and providing invaluable assistance to both students and teaching staff.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Food Technology department in preparing materials and resources for lessons.

Support teachers in the setup and delivery of practical lessons.
-
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised food preparation area.
-
Ensure that all equipment is in good working order and assist with repairs when necessary.

Oversee stock control and order supplies as required.
-
Support students during practical activities, providing guidance and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
The Ideal Candidate:

Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a school setting.

Strong knowledge of food technology and safety standards.
-
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

A team player with the ability to work independently.
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with students of all abilities.

A passion for food technology and education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
