Female PE Teacher – Secondary | Stockport | ASAP Start

Contract: Full-time (temp-to-perm pathway available)
Salary: £140 – £220 per day (PAYE) – actual rate dependent on experience and pay-scale
Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Start date: ASAP

The Role

Teaching Personnel is supporting a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Stockport that is seeking a passionate, driven female PE teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a school with a strong commitment to developing students’ physical education and wellbeing.

You will:

  • Deliver engaging PE lessons to students in KS3 and KS4, including GCSE PE, with a focus on developing both practical skills and theoretical knowledge.

  • Promote girls’ sports participation, organising and leading extra-curricular clubs, teams, and inter-school competitions, fostering a positive and inclusive sporting culture.

  • Support students’ progress by tracking their development, providing timely feedback, and encouraging excellence in both practical and theoretical aspects of PE.

  • Contribute to school-wide events such as sports days, inter-house competitions, and other physical activity initiatives, ensuring PE plays a key role in the school community.

  • Uphold high standards of behaviour management, safeguarding, and welfare in line with the school’s policies.

You Will Need

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – applications from both ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome.

  • Recent experience teaching PE at a secondary level, ideally including experience in delivering GCSE PE.

  • A passion for promoting girls’ sport, with a proven ability to encourage and inspire students to engage in physical activity.

  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

  • An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or the willingness to apply for one.

  • Two professional references covering the last 2 years of employment.
