Position: Family Support Worker
Location: Burnley
Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm
Salary: £12.90 - £14 per hour
Closing Date: 28th March 2025

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team, to help strengthen the partnership between school, students, and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide practical and emotional support to families to help improve the wellbeing and academic success of students.
- Offer guidance on parenting, managing behaviour, and accessing community services.
- Act as a liaison between families and school staff, ensuring open and effective communication.
- Work with other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to family support.
- Assist families in navigating challenges such as housing, financial difficulties, and mental health concerns.
- Plan and deliver family engagement workshops and events.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with school policies.
You will need:
- Experience in family support, social work, or a related field.
- Knowledge of child development, safeguarding, and relevant local services.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with families.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental.
- Experience in working within a school setting (desirable, but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
