Exciting Opportunity: Family Support Officer

Location: Lytham St Annes (FY8) 

Start date: September 2024

Key Responsibilities:

  • Family Engagement: Build strong, positive relationships with students and their families to support their educational journey.
  • Support Services: Provide guidance and support on a range of issues, including attendance, behaviour, and emotional well-being.
  • Resource Coordination: Connect families with external support services and community resources as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to develop and implement effective support strategies.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Track student progress and family engagement, maintaining accurate records and reporting to senior staff.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or within a support service environment is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with families and students.
  • Empathy and Understanding: A compassionate approach to understanding and addressing the challenges faced by students and their families.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think creatively and resourcefully to find solutions to various issues.
  • Team Player: A collaborative mindset, willing to work with a diverse team of educators and support staff.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Relevant qualifications in social work, counselling, education, or a related field.
  • Clearance: Successful completion of an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
