Job description

HLTA – Leyland

HLTA role in Leyland (PR25)

Start ASAP

Deliver high quality lesson content and Maths & English Booster sessions.

Gain experience of delivering to small groups and whole class groups in Year 3 and 4.

An OFSTED graded ‘GOOD’ school in a little village outside Leyland, are recruiting a new member of staff- A Higher Level Teaching Assistant, to provide quality lesson planning and content for a number of children in the Year 3- and 4-year groups. The successful practitioner will need to be Level 4 qualified and have experience of delivering to children in the Upper Ks1 and Lower KS2 year groups.

To be successful in this role you must hold a good level of Maths and English. A requirement is that you are able to deliver guidance to a high standard and ensure that the children are engaged. You will be expected in this role to work closely with the class teachers to plan a structured working week. Following the working week, you will then be expected to liaise with the class teachers to let them know of the progress the children are making. This is then fed into the planning for the following week to ensure all the children’s misconceptions are covered and they are well prepared for the SATs week in May.

This is an excellent opportunity which will be paid to a competitive level. You will be expected to work for 6.5 hours, the working day is from 08:30 to 15:30. You will be given a line manager in school, usually the SENCO or Deputy Head teacher and so you will be able to meet with them on a regular basis to discuss your areas to develop and reflective practice. HLTA roles are not common and so this is a fantastic opportunity in a GOOD Leyland School.

The rate of pay will vary from £12.90-£13.50 per hour.

The school is a PR25 postcode- however I will be able to let you know more specific details if you are interested in the role and are happy to register with the agency.

The role is expected to last until SATs week and then potentially longer depending on funding.

If this is a role which you are interested in, don’t hesitate to press APPLY NOW and upload an up-to-date copy of your CV. We will then be in contact regarding next steps of the application.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
