Reception Teacher

Are you looking for a role working in a forward thinking EYFS department in an Ofsted GOOD school?

Are you hard working, enthusiastic and willing to go above and beyond to make a difference in school?

If you have answered ‘YES’ to the above questions then this may be the role for you. The Head teacher of a school in Preston have specified that they would like to appoint a teacher who can take up a full-time teaching role in a Reception class. The role will start from April 2025, and continue for 12 months, the Head teacher has noted the role may also continue on a temporary contract with school from September 2025.

As the Reception class teacher you will be expected to plan collaboratively with the other team in the EYFS unit and prepare a range of high quality lessons which allow the children to access the seven main areas of learning and development within EYFS. Within the EYFS unit, you will be supported by a full time Level 3 Teaching Assistant and two SEN Support Assistants. As a team you will work effectively to manage behaviour, transitions between provisions and ensure the children are constantly learning. It will be your role as the teacher to fully assess the children in the first week and ensure you are able to put in place a tailored curriculum to ensure all the children meet their expectations.

The school is located in a socially deprived part of Preston and so the majority of children will arrive in school, working below expected age related levels. The role of the teacher will be to provide the children with best opportunity to succeed and create an environment which is safe to learn in. The Head teacher is passionate about her children and will support the applying candidates in their application and during their time in school. NQTs are welcome to apply and will be supported as the school DO have capacity to put a candidate through part of their induction. The Head teacher has mentioned though that the school will be looking for a practitioner who can work effectively with the other staff and be able to quickly develop relationships with other members of staff.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
