Job description
Inspire Through English: Become a 1:1 Intervention Tutor After Easter Half Term
Do you have experience supporting children with additional needs? Are you looking for a flexible tutoring role outside of mainstream classrooms?
At TP Tutors, we’re offering a fantastic opportunity to provide 1:1 English tuition to children in your local area, starting after Easter half term. This role is ideal for educators with experience supporting SEN students — whether as a teacher, teaching assistant, or tutor — who are passionate about making a real impact.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Planning and delivering engaging English sessions tailored to each learner’s needs
• Working face-to-face with children who require additional support — including those with ASD, SEMH, or PMLD
• Tuition may take place at home, in care settings, or in community spaces such as libraries, arranged in collaboration with families
• Tracking student progress and setting achievable learning goals
• Motivating and inspiring students to build confidence and access their education
• Using effective behaviour strategies to maintain focus and engagement
This role is a great fit for someone looking to gain more experience working with SEN students in a meaningful and rewarding setting.
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience working with children with special educational needs
• Strong background in teaching or tutoring English at KS2–KS4
• Able to plan individualised, engaging learning sessions
• Confidence in managing behaviour positively and supportively
• Ability to track progress and help students move towards their learning goals
Requirements:
All applicants will be required to undergo standard background checks and must hold a current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one — we can help with this).
What We Offer:
• Start date: After Easter half term
• Competitive pay: £28+ per hour, depending on placement
• PAYE payment – no umbrella company fees
• Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant
• Access to CPD and professional development opportunities
If you’re ready to help young learners discover their voice through English, we’d love to hear from you.
Send your up-to-date CV to lauren.stone@tp-tutors.com or call 02380 836 620 to apply.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
