Teacher of English – Secondary School in Basingstoke
Position: Full-time (Part-time considered)
Salary: MPR/UPR (Classroom Teachers’ Pay Scale)
Start Date: September 2025 or as soon as possible
A well-regarded secondary school in Basingstoke is seeking a dedicated Teacher of English to join its supportive and high-achieving English department. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed educator to inspire students and contribute to a dynamic learning environment.
The Role:

Teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons that challenge and inspire students.

Assessing and monitoring student progress to ensure excellent outcomes.

Creating an inclusive and purposeful classroom environment.

Collaborating with colleagues to develop and share best practices.
The Ideal Candidate:

Holds (or is working towards) QTS.
-
Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching English.

Can create a stimulating and supportive learning environment.

Is committed to fostering a love of literature and language in students.

Is keen to contribute to wider school life and professional development opportunities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
