Job description

Are you looking for flexible work during term time?

Are you a student or graduate seeking school-based experience?

Teaching Personnel are currently working with numerous mainstream Primary schools across Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland and we are currently looking for Ad Hoc Supply Teachers for general cover or long-term positions.

Whether you are unqualified, an Early Careers or an experienced teacher looking to network in a number of new schools as a supply teacher, we are able to provide you with regular daily work.

Whether you are looking for 2 or 5 days flexible work a week we would like to hear from you. Working on a supply basis will require you to ideally have your own form of transport as sometimes we may call you on the morning of work at short notice.

We also have a number of pre-planned absences where we will be able to provide you with advanced notice of work allowing you plenty of time to prepare for the day ahead.

The role can vary from school to school, but generally responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing the classroom ready for a lesson.
  • Delivering the pre-set work.
  • Ensuring the class stays on task.
  • Assisting any children who may require extra support.
  • Clearing away at the end of a lesson.
  • £120 - £150 per day (Depending on Experience and Qualifications) and paid to scale from day one for long-term positions

Previous experience in education or the care sector is desirable, however we also accept applications from inexperienced staff looking to start a career in a school setting. Qualified teachers who are only available part time are extremely desirable.

Teaching Personnel can offer:

  • Your own specialist consultant committed to providing you the best experience
  • Competitive weekly pay; based on qualification, experience and role requirements, paid directly through PAYE
  • Refer a friend bonus scheme (£50 per person)
  • Access to your own personal online portal, complete with an interactive online diary so that you can manage your bookings and availability

Please submit an up-to-date CV below to be considered.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
