A forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Portsmouth is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Economics and Business Teacher to join their thriving team on a part-time basis as soon as possible until the end of the academic year. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or ambitious early-career educator who is excited by the chance to deliver high-quality Business and Economics education, primarily at Key Stage 5, with a meaningful KS3 contribution through a Money Management programme.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, well-planned lessons in Economics and Business Studies to A-Level students

Teach a KS3 Money Management course (resources provided) that supports students’ financial literacy and life skills

Inspire students with a passion for the subject, encouraging independent thought, critical analysis, and real-world connections

Monitor and assess student progress to ensure strong academic outcomes and provide timely, constructive feedback

Contribute to the wider curriculum and department development where appropriate

Foster positive relationships with students and colleagues and contribute to the school’s collaborative and supportive ethos
Who We’re Looking For
-
A well-qualified subject specialist in Economics and/or Business
-
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
-
Has experience teaching KS5, ideally A-Level, with a proven track record of student success (or the potential to develop this as an ECT)

Is confident teaching foundational financial literacy at KS3, with support and resources provided

Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills

Has a strong classroom presence and a clear commitment to safeguarding and student well-being

Enjoys working as part of a team and contributing to a vibrant department and wider school community

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
