ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Our client is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Career Teacher of Psychology to join their expanding Social Sciences department at a mixed all-through academy in Ilford. This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified teacher with a passion for Psychology and a desire to inspire students at KS4 and KS5.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
As an ECT in Psychology, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and thought-provoking Psychology lessons, primarily at KS5 (A-Level), with possible contributions to KS4 enrichment or Health & Social Care

  • Creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that promotes critical thinking and discussion

  • Assessing student progress and using data to inform teaching strategies

  • Contributing to curriculum development within the Social Sciences department

  • Participating in the school’s ECT programme and whole-school CPD

  • Supporting students' academic and personal development

  • Building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents

WHAT OUR CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold or be on track to achieve QTS by September 2025

  • Hold a relevant degree in Psychology or a closely related field

  • Have strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Psychology

  • Demonstrate a commitment to inclusive, student-centered learning

  • Be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills

  • Be reflective, adaptable, and eager to grow professionally

  • Be willing to contribute to the wider life of the school and Social Sciences faculty
