Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Tutors and Intervention Specialists to support children within their own home and within local libraries. If you are a fully qualified Teacher/Tutor/Higher Level Teaching Assistant who is looking to work on a part-time basis, then this role may be for you!

This academic year, there is an increased number of school age pupils who are unable to attend school because of their barriers to learning. Therefore, Teaching Personnel are helping to create an environment in which these pupils can access an education. Many pupils who need this type of provision may have special and additional needs including, SEMH difficulties, Autism, Attachment Disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder and Specific Learning Difficulties.

In being a Tutor, you will teach your subject specialism/s to the pupils on a 1:1 basis. As a tutor, you will need to be able to build a relationship with this student to help tailor your approach to cater for their additional needs and preferences. As a tutor, you may be required to quickly adapt and change your approach to suit the environment which the pupil is in.

Due to the increased demand of tutors in the Northampton and Daventry area, you have the choice to tutor multiple pupils. Many pupils require anything from 2-15 hours of tutoring per week. The hours of this position is flexible around the availability of the Tutor. The pay for tutoring is £25-£30 per hour. It is desirable for the applicants to hold full UK driving licence as a selection of the pupils will need to be tutored within their home/at a local library.

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit subject specialist tutors in:

-          English.

-          Maths.

-          Science.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
