Cover Supervisor

We are working with a vibrant and inclusive secondary school located in the heart of Old Trafford. Our client school are seeking a number of dedicated and flexible Cover Supervisors to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during the absence of teaching staff, ensuring that students remain engaged with their work while maintaining a positive classroom environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and looking for flexible working hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring that they follow set lesson plans.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting respect and cooperation among students.
  • Provide support to students as needed, helping them understand tasks and encouraging participation.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment conducive to learning.
  • Report any issues or concerns regarding student behaviour or welfare to relevant staff members.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to cover supervision as required.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting student needs.
  • Flexibility in working hours; availability on short notice is preferred.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
