Job description

Are you a university student looking for part-time, flexible roles within education?

Are you a recent graduate seeking experience within a mainstream secondary school?

Teaching Personnel are currently in partnership with a secondary school located in Macclesfield, seeking a part-time Cover Supervisor. The school is in a great location with excellent transport links between Stockport and Congleton. The ideal candidate will be a confident individual with a passion for the academic development of young people.

  • Flexible work, with the opportunity for full-time hours
  • Opportunity to earn £90-£120 per day (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confidently supervise and manage classes in the absence of the class teacher
  • Liaising with other teachers and members of SLT to provide both positive and negative feedback on lessons and behaviour
  • Manage students’ behaviour in-line with the school’s behaviour policies, creating a positive and supportive working environment
  • Ensuring all students remain on task and work is completed to a high level

What we are looking for:

  • Experience working with young people (preferably within a school setting, but not essential for this role)
  • Strong communication skills with both students and staff
  • Good classroom management skills with good knowledge of the general school curriculum
  • Safeguarding training (must be done through Teaching Personnel)

To be considered for this role, applicants must have an enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be willing to apply for one through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
