Location: North West England, Cheshire, Macclesfield

Job Description:

Job Duties:

The Cover Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing classes in the absence of the regular teacher. Duties include supervising students, ensuring a positive learning environment, managing classroom behaviour, delivering pre-prepared work, and liaising with teaching staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Experience working in an educational setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively

Education:

A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English is required. Additional qualifications in education or related fields are desirable.

Experience:

Prior experience working in a school or educational environment is essential. Experience in classroom management and working with young people is highly beneficial.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of classroom management techniques
  • Ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively
  • Good organisational skills
  • Confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching Assistant qualification
  • First Aid certification
  • Additional training in behaviour management

Working Conditions:

The Cover Supervisor role involves working within a school environment, following the school's timetable and procedures. The position may require standing for extended periods and dealing with various student behaviours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
