Salary: £90 - £120 (varied depending on experience and qualifications)
Hours of work: 37.5 hours a week (or ad-hoc flexible)
Start date: Immediate

About the Role

We’re seeking both Cover Supervisors and Supply Teachers to support schools across Reading and the surrounding areas.

In this role, you will:
• Supervise lessons and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Manage student behaviour with confidence and empathy, ensuring a productive learning environment.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects or, where appropriate, take on subject-specific teaching.
• Adapt quickly to different classroom settings, fostering engagement and participation among students.
• Build strong relationships with students, supporting their personal and academic development.

 

For long-term placements, we can negotiate additional responsibilities and compensation, offering you the chance to take on a more traditional teaching role with enhanced duties.

Who We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teachers (QTS) seeking flexible or long-term supply teaching opportunities.
• Cover Supervisors who are confident, resilient, and adaptable, with or without formal teaching experience.
• Individuals with experience working with children or young people (experience with additional needs is a bonus).
• Passionate educators who are committed to safeguarding and creating an inclusive learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
