Secondary schools in the Gosport area are seeking dedicated Cover Supervisors to join their teams on an ad hoc, temporary, or permanent basis, depending on what suits you best. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the school day by supervising lessons in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. You will deliver pre-prepared lesson plans, maintain a positive classroom environment, and support students in their learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Classroom Management: Supervise classes across a range of subjects and year groups, ensuring students remain on task and follow the set lesson plan.
- Lesson Delivery: Present pre-planned lessons confidently and adapt them as needed to engage students.
- Behaviour Management: Maintain a calm and orderly classroom environment, addressing any disruptions in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
- Support for Students: Assist students in understanding and completing tasks where needed, fostering a positive attitude toward learning.
- Communication: Liaise with teaching staff, heads of department, and senior leadership to provide feedback on lesson outcomes and student behaviour.
- Professionalism: Uphold the school’s values and ethos, acting as a role model for students at all times.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
