Cover Supervisor – Glossop

Are you passionate about education and confident in managing classrooms to keep students engaged in their learning? Teaching Personnel is working with a vibrant secondary school in Glossop to find a motivated and reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team in January 2024. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a school setting while making a meaningful difference in students’ education.

About the Role:

  • Start Date: January 2024
  • Contract: Flexible options available (full-time or part-time)
  • Pay Rate: £85–£110 per day (dependent on experience)
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the regular classroom teacher across a variety of subjects and year groups.
  • Maintain a structured and engaging learning environment, ensuring students stay focused and on task.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using strategies that align with the school's policies.
  • Address student questions and provide guidance on set tasks to support their understanding.
  • Supervise and support students during unstructured times such as lunch or break, as required.
  • Record and report attendance, engagement, and behaviour to teaching staff after lessons.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or other roles involving the supervision of young people.
  • Confidence in managing classroom dynamics and creating a positive learning environment.
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with students and staff.
  • Adaptability to teach various subjects and work with different year groups.
  • A proactive, professional approach with a commitment to upholding the school’s values and high standards of learning.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
