Core Subjects Tutor (Worksop, S80)

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Core Subjects Tutor to join our team in Worksop (S80), providing high-quality education and support to pupils who are outside of mainstream school settings.

About the Role:

  • Location: Worksop, S80 (with potential travel to surrounding areas)
  • Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Hours: Flexible

We work closely with local authorities to deliver tailored educational support to pupils who may be unable to attend mainstream school due to a variety of reasons, including medical, behavioural, or emotional needs. As a Core Subjects Tutor, you will play a pivotal role in helping these young learners develop their knowledge, skills, and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Deliver engaging and effective tuition in core subjects (English, Maths, and Science) aligned with the national curriculum
✅ Develop personalised learning plans to meet the individual needs of each pupil
✅ Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to parents, carers, and local authorities
✅ Create a supportive and nurturing learning environment, adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs

Requirements:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) or extensive tutoring experience in core subjects
  • Strong subject knowledge and experience delivering lessons to Key Stages 1-4
  • Experience working with pupils who have additional needs or challenging behaviours is highly desirable
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
