TP Tutors are seeking enthusiastic and engaging Tutors in Sutton in Ashfield (NG17) and the surrounding areas to support pupils on a one-to-one basis. Many of our current placements involve assisting pupils who are awaiting school placements, which means that tuition often occurs in the home environment or within the local community.

There has been an increase in demand for specialists in core subjects (English and Maths), and we have opportunities to support both primary and secondary pupils, so we welcome Tutors from all backgrounds.

Pupils require tuition for a variety of reasons, such as:

  • Behavioural difficulties (pupils excluded from school and awaiting a new placement)
  • Emotional needs, including school phobia or anxiety
  • Medical needs
  • Learning difficulties
  • Communication and social needs
  • Relocation and awaiting a school placement
  • Improvement in grades
  • Support with GCSE/Functional Skills preparation

Successful applicants will need:

  • Experience with primary or secondary-aged children
  • Experience working with children in a tuition capacity (desirable)
  • The ability to manage challenging behaviour
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the pupil's needs and abilities
  • A calm, kind, and patient approach
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Safeguarding training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
