Functional Skills Tutor

Job Duties:

• Conducting functional skills assessments to identify individual learning needs
• Developing tailored teaching plans to support learners in improving their functional skills
• Delivering engaging and interactive lessons in English, Maths, and ICT
• Providing constructive feedback to learners to aid their progression
• Monitoring and tracking learner progress and adjusting teaching methods accordingly

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed)
• Specialist qualification in English, Maths, or ICT
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching functional skills
• Excellent understanding of the functional skills curriculum
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learner needs
• Organisational skills
