Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Computer Science Tutor to support a Year 8 student with high SEN (Special Educational Needs) for 3 hours per week within the students home. The student requires tailored, engaging lessons to help them understand and enjoy Computer Science in a way that suits their unique learning style.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Plan and deliver individualized Computer Scicence lessons aligned with the student's learning needs and school curriculum.

  • Use multi-sensory and interactive teaching methods to enhance understanding and engagement.

  • Provide patient, supportive, and structured learning experiences, adapting approaches to suit SEN requirements.

  • Build the student's confidence and interest in Computer Science.

  • Liaise with parents/carers and, where appropriate, school staff to track progress and adjust teaching strategies.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Experience working with SEN students, particularly those with high learning needs.

  • Strong knowledge of Computer Science.

  • Ability to use creative and adaptive teaching methods to meet individual learning styles.

  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.

  • A relevant teaching qualification or significant tutoring experience is desirable.

  • DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
