Job description

Position: Chef/Kitchen Assistant

Location: Northampton

Teaching Personnel are actively recruiting for a chef/kitchen assistant to join one of our clients college’s based centrally to Northampton in NN3 to join their team ASAP.

As a Chef/Kitchen Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring our students and staff enjoy healthy, tasty meals every day including: making paninis, cooking chips, and making salads. You will assist in preparing a variety of dishes, help maintain a clean and organized kitchen, and ensure all health and safety standards are met, you may also e required to do some heavy lifting when taking food stock into the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of a range of meals and snacks.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
  • Support the Head Chef in menu planning and food ordering.
  • Ensure all food hygiene and safety standards are consistently upheld.
  • Assist with stock management and inventory checks.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to provide high-quality service.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen safety.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for food.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
