Are you a passionate Chemistry teacher looking for your next role? Our client school in Durham is seeking a dedicated educator to join their team from February 2025. Whether you're an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or a Fully Qualified Teacher (FQT), we want to hear from you!
Position: Chemistry Teacher
Pay: To scale (£162.31 to £251.71 per day)
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: February 2025
About the School:
Our client secondary school is based in Durham, with excellent transport links via the A1(M) and A690, making it easily accessible for commuters. Public transport connections also provide convenient access from across the North East.
Requirements:
- QTS or equivalent qualification
- Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry and a solid understanding of the broader Science curriculum
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Child-only DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- Two professional references from recent employment
Job Responsibilities:
- Teach KS3 and KS4 Chemistry to a range of abilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons tailored to student needs
- Ensure student safety during practical experiments, especially when handling hazardous materials
- Participate in extracurricular activities to enrich student learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
