Chemistry Teacher with Subject Leader Responsibilities
One-Year Maternity Cover
Start Date: Easter 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR 2B (£5,642)

We are working with a highly successful secondary school and Sixth Form in Milton Keynes to recruit an inspiring and dedicated Chemistry Teacher with Subject Leader Responsibilities for a one-year maternity cover. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious educator to step into a leadership role within a supportive and high-achieving environment.

The Role:
This one-year position combines teaching Chemistry across Key Stages with departmental leadership responsibilities. Key aspects of the role include:

  • Delivering high-quality, engaging Chemistry lessons that inspire students and promote a love for Science.
  • Leading the Chemistry department, overseeing curriculum development, assessment strategies, and departmental resources.
  • Supporting and mentoring colleagues to ensure excellent outcomes for students.
  • Collaborating with other subject leaders and contributing to whole-school initiatives.
  • Upholding and promoting the school’s strong values and focus on holistic education.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching Chemistry across Key Stages.
  • A proven track record of securing strong outcomes for students.
  • Leadership experience, or the ambition and skills to step into a leadership role.
  • A collaborative mindset and a commitment to student success.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
