Job description
Care Support role within Primary.
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of a Primary School in Durham, who are seeking a full time Teaching Assistant to work with pupils with a variety of additional needs.
The role will require you to support with classroom based tasks and also work on a 1:1 basis supporting children with a range of special educational needs including;
- Learning disabilities
- Social and Emotional Difficulties
- Autism
Our client is happy to consider candidates with a passion for education who come from care work backgrounds as the role will require you to carry out personal care. Candidates with qualifications in Health and Social Care, Moving and Handling and Counselling Skills are also highly desired. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled and passionate team.
Teaching Personnel can offer competitive rates of pay of £425 - £500 per week as well as the opportunity to up skill your professional development by utilising our CPD Academy. You will also be supported by our specialist SEND Team who have strong knowledge of the current market and education sector.
The ideal candidate will:
Essential
- Be confident supporting children with a range of emotional needs
- Have a nurturing and patient manner
- Willingness to undertake further training
- Come from a care or education background
To be accepted for this role, you must have an enhanced DBS that is registered on the Update Service, or be happy to apply for one through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
