Behavioural Teaching Assistant

Location: Caerphilly

Pay: £80 - £90 per hour

Insight:

A large secondary school in the Caerphilly area is partnering with Teaching Personnel to add a new member to their team! With 700 students, the school aims to equip each learner with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need for the future.  Recognising that every student's needs are unique, the school is looking to expand its dedicated Teaching Assistant team, which currently supports 40 teachers daily. These Teaching Assistants help students with challenging behaviour, either in-class or by taking them to nearby sports facilities to ensure they remain productive and active.

Responsibilities:

-          Be active and able to engage in sporting activities with children

-          Be calm and approachable

-          Assist teachers in maintaining a positive and structured classroom environment

-          Provide tailored assistance to students with behavioural challenges, helping them engage with lessons and complete assignments

This will involve supporting children with Autism, ADHD, and addressing behavioural difficulties, social, emotional, and mental health challenges, as well as providing 1-to-1 support for pupils who need assistance in these areas.

Essential:

-          Enhanced DBS (child only) and be registered with the Education Workforce council.  We can help with this

-          Minimum of 5 GCSE A* - C

-          Strong with behaviour (experience desired by not essential)

-          Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to establish rapport with both students and staff members you’ll be collaborating with.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
