**Behaviour Support Assistant**

Pupil Referral unit

8:15 – 3:30

£80 - £90 per day

Are you ready to take on a challenge that can positively impact the lives of young people? We are seeking a passionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist Pupil Referral Unit in Caerphilly, a hub specifically designed to support vulnerable students.

**Must Be Strong with Behaviour**

About the role:

This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a newly established, purpose-built education facility that caters to students who have been excluded from mainstream education.  The hub supports and nurtures a group of pupils with behavioural needs in its brand-new versatile education spaces, nurture rooms, youth space and one-to-one support areas.  As well as educational, the school will host specialised support groups to help young people who are looking top progress into work and college.

Key Responsibilities

  • One-to-one in and small group support in some of the new spaces at the school, as well as out on the yard while partaking in a sporting activity, helping students engage with their learning and manage their behaviour effectively.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to implement personalised behaviour strategies that cater to each students needs.
  • Contribute to a safe and structured environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional development.
  • Assist students in developing their social and emotional skills, helping them build confidence.
  • Support initiatives involving the local youth services, which will provide additional facilities and resources for student’s engagement outside th classroom.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience with challenging behaviour is essential – personal and professional experience will be considered.
  • Have a genuine desire to support young people, especially those facing significant challenges.
  • Strong behaviour management skills: Confident in handling disruptive behaviour and setting clear boundaries.
  • Patience: Able to remain calm and understanding when faced with challenging situations.
  • Adaptability: No two days are the same, the ability to adapt to different situations is essential.
