Behavioural Support Assistant – Primary Schools – S10 Area

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Behavioural Support Assistant to work within primary schools across the S10 area supporting children with behavioural and emotional needs. This role is ideal for someone calm, compassionate, and resilient, with a genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

About the Role:

  • Position: Behavioural Support Assistant (Primary)
  • Location: Sheffield S10 area
  • Start Date: Immediate and September 2025 starts available
  • Contract Type: Full-time (part-time considered)
  • Salary: Competitive – dependent on experience

As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to provide one-to-one and small group support. Your role is vital in helping children regulate their emotions, develop positive coping strategies, and stay engaged with learning.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs
  • Background in education, youth work, psychology, or behaviour support is desirable
  • Confident managing behaviour in a calm, non-confrontational manner
  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills
  • Committed to promoting inclusion and pupil wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
