Behaviour Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Stockport)
Location: Stockport
Start Date: January 2025
Salary: £85 - £100 per day, dependent on experience

Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and resilient Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join a committed secondary school team in Stockport starting January 2025. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs, helping them engage positively with school life and achieve their potential.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with individual students and small groups who require extra behavioral support. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support: Building positive relationships and acting as a role model for students who find classroom dynamics challenging.
- Implementing behavior management strategies: Collaborating with teachers and the SEN team to carry out individualized behavior plans, tracking progress and adjusting strategies as needed.
- Facilitating student engagement: Assisting students in overcoming behavioral and emotional barriers, encouraging positive behaviors, and helping them re-engage with classroom activities.
- Creating a safe, supportive environment: Using empathy and strong interpersonal skills to build trust and provide students with a space where they feel understood and valued.
- Assisting in personal development: Guiding students to develop social skills, resilience, and self-confidence through mentorship and encouragement.
The Ideal Candidate:
To succeed in this role, you should bring:
- Relevant experience in behavior support, youth work, or a similar role within a secondary school setting. Prior experience in SEN support is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm and patient under pressure, even in challenging situations.
- Strong teamwork abilities, working in partnership with teachers, SEN staff, and parents to reinforce positive strategies and ensure cohesive support.
- Adaptability and empathy, with a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
