Join Our Team as a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant

Job Title: Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant
Location: Newport
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Hourly Pay: From £12.90 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

Are you passionate about supporting students with additional learning needs (ALN) and behavioural challenges? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join one of our partner schools in Newport as a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant. This role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives and contribute to their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for students with ALN and behavioural needs
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students and staff, offering emotional and social support
  • Follow the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Create a supportive, encouraging environment where students can thrive and build confidence
  • Adapt to changing situations and provide flexible support as needed

What We’re Looking For:

  • Enhanced Child Only DBS Certificate (we can help you obtain one)
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Two professional references covering the last 24 months
  • Experience supporting children with special educational needs is a plus, but we also welcome applicants with personal experience or a strong willingness to develop their skills in this area

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
