Behaviour Support Specialist – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme

This is a full-time position, beginning in January and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance. The role offers a competitive pay range of £419.25 to £500 per week.

Role Overview

The Behaviour Support Specialist will play a vital role in supporting students who experience challenges with behaviour, ensuring they can engage effectively with their education in a positive and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Behavioural Support: Work with individual students and small groups to address behaviour-related barriers to learning, promoting positive behavioural strategies.
• De-escalation and Conflict Resolution: Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
• Develop Individualised Plans: Collaborate with staff to design and implement tailored behaviour management plans for students, tracking progress and adjusting strategies as needed.
• Mentoring and Role Modelling: Act as a positive role model, providing mentorship to students and encouraging them to make positive behavioural choices.
• Support in Classrooms: Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviour, creating a focused and inclusive learning environment.
• Liaise with Stakeholders: Work closely with parents, carers, teachers, and pastoral staff to ensure a unified approach to student support.
• Record and Monitor Progress: Maintain accurate records of behaviour incidents and student progress, reporting regularly to school leadership and staff.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience in Behaviour Management: Prior experience working with students who have behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong Interpersonal Skills: The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff, demonstrating empathy, patience, and resilience.
• Knowledge of Behaviour Strategies: Familiarity with behaviour management techniques, such as de-escalation, restorative approaches, or conflict resolution.
• Adaptable and Resourceful: Able to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations, finding creative solutions to support students’ needs.
• Team-Oriented: A collaborative attitude, ready to work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and other professionals to support student development.
• Commitment to Student Success: A genuine passion for helping young people overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
