Position: Behaviour Support Mentor.
Location: SEMH Specialist School, Preston.
Hours: Full time.
Contract Type: Temporary.

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a Behaviour Support Assistant!

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of this specialist school. The school is commited to providing a safe and nurturing environment where every student can thrive. The role:

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the emotional and behavioural needs of the students. Working closely with the teaching team, you will help create a positive learning environment by:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies tailored to individual students.
  • Supporting students in building positive relationships and coping mechanisms.
  • Assisting in the development of personalised support plans.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure student progress.

  • A passion for working with children and young people.
  • Experience in a similar role or within an educational setting (preferably SEMH or SEN).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students.
  • Patience, resilience, and a calm approach to challenging behaviour.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
