Position: Autism Support Worker
Location: Chorley SEN School, Chorley
Contract: Temporary, rolling 12-week contract (termly renewal)
Hours: Full-time
About the Role:
As an Autism Support Worker, you will be an integral part of our SEN school community in Chorley, dedicated to supporting students with autism in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment. Working closely with teachers and specialists, you will provide one-on-one and group support to help students achieve their educational goals, develop social skills, and build confidence. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a caring and inclusive environment and is committed to empowering students with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with autism, adapting to individual needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other staff to create an inclusive learning experience.
- Assist with the development of communication, social, and independence skills.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with children or young adults with autism or SEN is preferred.
- Patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting young people’s development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to the dynamic needs of the school environment.
- Understanding of autism and knowledge of relevant support strategies is an advantage.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
