Job description

A specialist SEMH school in Hailsham is looking to appoint a confident, compassionate Behaviour Mentor to support young people who have experienced trauma, exclusion, or disrupted learning. The school provides a structured and supportive setting for students to rebuild trust and gain confidence in their education.

Main Duties:

  • Provide behaviour-focused support to students in class and during unstructured times

  • Encourage positive routines and appropriate responses to challenge or frustration

  • Implement personalised strategies alongside the SEN and pastoral team

  • Support reintegration into academic learning and social settings

Who should apply?

  • Candidates with experience in SEMH, PRU, youth justice or care settings

  • Emotionally intelligent individuals who can stay calm and consistent

  • Someone who believes in second chances and the power of strong role models
