Job Duties:

• Provide support to students with autism spectrum disorder in an educational setting
• Assist in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) for students
• Help students develop social skills and promote positive behaviour
• Support students in their academic work and activities
• Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in the students' care
• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

• Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder
• Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and understanding
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

• Minimum of GCSEs or equivalent qualifications
• Additional training in autism support or special education is desirable

Experience:

• Prior experience working in an educational or care setting
• Experience implementing individualised education plans (IEPs)

Knowledge and Skills:

• Understanding of autism spectrum disorder and its impact on individuals
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Basic knowledge of behavioural management techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in autism support or related field
• First aid training

Working Conditions:

• Work in a school setting with students with autism spectrum disorder
• Full-time hours, temporary position
• Potential for some flexibility in working hours

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
