Role Overview
As an ASD Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to individuals with autism, helping them navigate daily tasks, social interactions, and personal goals. This role involves one-on-one support, facilitating activities, and creating a safe, encouraging environment. You'll work closely with each individual’s care team to ensure their needs are met and their independence is promoted.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality, individualized support to people with ASD in various settings, including in-home and community settings
• Assist individuals in developing and implementing daily routines, skills, and personal goals
• Support clients with social, emotional, and communication needs
• Assist with personal care tasks, when necessary, in a dignified and respectful manner
• Promote social inclusion by accompanying clients to community activities, events, and appointments
• Keep accurate records and reports on clients’ progress and challenges
• Collaborate with team members, families, and health professionals to create comprehensive support plans
• Encourage independence, self-confidence, and choice for all clients

Requirements:

• Experience working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum (preferred but not essential)
• Relevant qualification in Health & Social Care, Psychology, or a related field (preferred)
• Compassionate, empathetic, and patient personality with strong communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Understanding of autism, sensory needs, and other related conditions
• Flexible and adaptable approach to meet varied client needs
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one
