Job description

ALN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for confident Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teaching Assistants, to work in a Secondary School in Carmarthen. The school has a Centre which specialises in supporting children with additional learning needs.

The role will entail supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis within the classroom environment. The school are looking for someone to use their own initiative and offer encouragement to pupils to support them to hit their developmental targets.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

  • Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Dyslexia
  • Dyspraxia
  • Multi-Sensory Impairment (MSI)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Profound and Moderate Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
  • Severe Learning Difficulties

What you would need in order to apply:

  • Experience supporting children with learning difficulties
  • Experience supporting and de-escalating challenging behaviour
  • You will need to be confident, organised and an enthusiastic individual who’s passionate about getting the best out of pupils

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
