ALN Teaching Assistant

Are you a hardworking, positive person that is dedicated to supporting and encouraging children with Additional Learning Needs through their education? At Teaching Personnel we are actively looking for dedicated ALN teaching assistant to work within a STF (Specialist Teaching Facility) unit in a mainstream primary school in Ammanford. For this role we are looking for an individual that is resilient and able to work with children with complex needs and may require personal care also.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience working with ALN children, preferably in an education or care setting
- Experience working within a Specialist Teaching Facility (STF)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
- A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguarding children
- Support children in developing essential skills, such as communication, social interaction, and independence
- Adapt quickly to different school settings and build rapport with students and colleagues
- Assist teachers in developing and implementing individualised learning plans
- Monitor and record student progress, communicating effectively with staff and parents
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to further enhance your skills and knowledge in ALN support
Requirements
- Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to pass enhanced DBS checks.
- Minimum of GCSE’s in English and Mathematics
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA or SEN certification) are desirable but not essential
- Driving Licence ( not essential but preferred)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
