Salary: £83.85 daily rate
Location: Carmarthenshire

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant to join our team, providing essential support for students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and assisting with personal care requirements. Role and Responsibilities:
As a Teaching Assistant with Personal Care and ALN experience, your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students with ALN on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, tailoring assistance to their individual learning needs.
- Assisting with personal care tasks, such as feeding, toileting, and mobility support.
- Implementing specific learning strategies as directed by the classroom teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO).
- Encouraging student independence, participation, and confidence both in and outside the classroom.
- Promoting positive behaviour and providing emotional and social support to students.
- Working alongside teachers and other staff to plan and implement inclusive learning activities.
- Monitoring and recording student progress, as well as liaising with the SENCO to review development and adjust strategies as needed.
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience working with children with ALN, particularly those with physical, learning, or emotional needs.
- Practical experience in providing personal care, including assisting with hygiene and mobility needs.
- A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to working with children with diverse needs.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as the initiative to work independently when required.
- A proactive attitude towards promoting inclusion and student well-being.
- Experience working within an educational setting (desirable).
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or a Health and Social Care qualification (desirable).
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
