2nd in Maths – Ipswich, Suffolk

Are you an experienced Maths teacher ready to take the next step in your career? Do you have the drive to support the development of a thriving Maths department? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

Our client, a reputable academy based in Ipswich, Suffolk, is seeking a committed and enthusiastic 2nd in Maths to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic chance to play a key leadership role in shaping the Maths curriculum and supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Maths in leading the department and raising attainment

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4 (and potentially KS5)

  • Mentor and support staff within the department, including Early Career Teachers (ECTs)

  • Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, and data analysis

  • Drive high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong track record of success in the classroom

  • Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)

  • Leadership experience or a desire to step into middle leadership

  • A passion for Maths education and a commitment to student progress

  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
