Job description

Teaching Personnel are recruiting dedicated Teachers and Tutors

Are you a Teacher or Tutor looking for a new challenge? If the answer is yes then an exciting new challenge awaits you at Teaching Personnel.

There has been an increase of young people who are unable to attend and access school because of a variety of reasons, such as SEN needs, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, Learning Difficulties and Lower Learning Levels. Here at TP, we work with local authorities across the country to provide high-impact, 1:1 tuition for these young people!

You’ll have the opportunity to choose your own schedule; accepting as much or as little work as you like. With a lighter workload with less paperwork, tuition gives you that invaluable time back where you can spend time with you family or take up that hobby you’ve always wanted to try but never had the time too!

We are looking for Maths and English 1:1 tutors in Northampton and surrounding areas, to support all ages from Primary level to GCSE.

We have immediate start referrals to offer, or we can work around your availability!

Skills and Requirements
- Right to work in the UK is essential.
- An up to date ‘child only’ DBS registered on the update service is essential.
- You must have a passion and drive to make a difference in the lives of the students we work with.
- Confident and competent English/Maths skills.
- Empathy and understanding.
- Ability to plan and tailor sessions relevant to the child.
- Able to commit to 10 hours per week.
-  Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.

We work with a broad and varied range of Local Authority Clients and independent provisions, including: -

  • Virtual Schools (specifically for Looked After Children)
  • SEN teams for pupils with EHCP
  • SEN teams for pupils with no EHCP but no school placement
  • Specialist independent provisions for SEN pupils
  • 1:1 Tuition for children without a school place.
  • Sessions are completed within the child’s home or a local Library.
  • Sessions are planned by yourself in adhering to the child’s needs

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
