Contract: Full Time / Part Time

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Job Description:
Are you passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs? Teaching Personnel are looking for a dedicated and empathetic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a Year 9 student with ADHD at a vibrant, all-inclusive secondary school in Brynmawr. This role is perfect for someone committed to making a positive impact on student's aged 11-16 education and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a Year 9 student with ADHD, assisting with both academic learning and personal development.
- Collaborate with teachers to tailor support and enhance the student’s learning experience.
- Encourage focus and minimise distractions to help the student stay engaged in lessons.
- Build a positive relationship with the student by identifying shared interests and creating a supportive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working in education, particularly with children with ADHD or other behavioural needs such as Autism.
- SEN-related qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant or SEN qualifications) would be advantageous, helping you stand out in the application process.
- A good understanding of behaviour management techniques and confidence in handling challenging behaviours.
- Resilience and adaptability are essential in providing support to children with additional learning needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
